Harkin Statement on the Attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Libya and the Death of Ambassador Stevens
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today issued the following statement upon learning of the death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other American personnel in attacks against the U.S. Consulate in Libya.
“I join President Obama and his Administration in condemning these senseless acts of violence at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. My hope is that those responsible for these attacks are identified and swiftly brought to justice. Until then, my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who perished.”
