Harkin Announces Over $1.1 Million for Highway Safety
WASHINGTON D.C. – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today announced that the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau has been awarded $1,160,898.90 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The funds will support the state’s highway safety programs. Harkin is a member of the Appropriations subcommittee that funds the DOT.
“This grant will help to make Iowa’s roads safer for our family, children, and communities,” said Harkin. "It is urgently-needed funding that will be put to good use."
